LOGBOOK FPA100

INTRODUCTION


Assalamualaikum,hai my name is Nur Irfan Syahmi B. Mohd Supian or you can call me syahmi.I am students class 1D part 1 course Diploma Planting Industry Management at UITM campus Jasin,Melaka.Alhamdulilah ,We are grateful to God for allowing us to blog on this FPA 100 topic.

Before I go further, I would like to clarify about this FPA100 subject. We may study the proper farm management techniques in this course.Students following this three year programme will learn the latest techniques of Plantation Management, Agricultural Science, Farm Mechanization, Accounting, Plant Science, Agricultural Economics, Soil Science, Industrial Relations, Personnel Management, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Extension and Agricultural Marketing.

This semester we must take some subjects according to the schedule set for us, for example Plant Science (AGR122), Agriculture (AGR142), Business Mathematics (MATH112), Fundamental of Islam (CTU101), English Listening (120), Knighthood (HBU111) and Fieldwork 1 (FPA100).

This topic teaches us how to create plantations for fieldwork, or how to do it ourselves. Everything will be covered by the instructor and our senior supervisor, Planters Executive.(PE). They will keep an eye on us as we clear the area, plant the crop, and harvest it.


WEEK 1(INTRODUCTION TO FPA100)

Friday (24/3/2023)

Activities
9.00 a.m. - 11.00 a.m

Ts Muhammad Zahid, the lecturer for the FPA 100 topic, conducted my lesson that day via the internet. He is the lecturer who instructs on this topic.In this online class, he has explained about this subject and told the field work that needs to be done this semester.






Challenges

There are various difficulties with taking online classes, such as a very good internet connection. The issue of students not attending online classes is another issue.



Costing

cost for the first week is RM0 because we use our own laptop and student WIFI provided by UITM.


REFLECTION

I learned a lot about the subject or project I would be working on this semester, and I gained a lot.





WEEK 2 (INTRODUCTION TO FARM,LAND CLEARING)

31 MARCH UNTIL 6 APRIL


31 MARCH 

At 6.30 am, all students need to gather for roll call led by P.E.While at the rollcal place, we do exercises before entering the farm so that there are no serious injuries while on the farm.


In addition, we sang Negaraku, Wawasan setia UITM and Planters song before going to the farm.






While at the farm, we heard a little about the farm at UITM Jasin. This explanation is given by Cik Ismail.



Next, P.E has directed to line up and sit in a circle for each class.Our class P.E is Cik jas and Cik nik. They have made an introduction session for that day.





At 11.00, we were asked to gather to go back to college. While gathering we once again sang the Planters Song with enthusiasm.


Challenges

The difficulty that day was that we were fasting, so it was an extremely hot and thirsty day.


Reflection

From here I need to be physically and mentally ready to do the project this semester.



3 APRIL UNTIL 7 APRIL 2023

During this date me and my batch doing land clearing and drainage clearing .We start at 6.40 until 9.00 a.m, in the morning and in the afternoon, 4.45 p.m. until 6.00 p.m.Each Class has been divided into places to be cleaned.Our class did this work with enthusiasm and helped each other.The tools that we used for this task is hoe.Each one get one hoe.





7 APRIL 2023


My batch visited the UITM Jasin farm area led by the P.E of each class. The UITM Jasin farm has 9 plots that I know of.





Challenges

Since we refrain from drinking and eating during the fasting month, clearing land presents a hardship. To avoid becoming exhausted, we work together to clear the land.


Costing 

the cost for week 1 is RM10 because I bought a straw hat to avoid the heat.


Reflection

We can use the skills we have during land clearing and can work together.

  LOGBOOKS FPA 100 WEEKS 9 WEEKS 9 (PREPARATION OF STAKES AND FERTILIZER) 26 may 2023 On this weeks,we will resume the preparation of stakes for long beans.Among tools used are raffia rope,wooden,hoe and axes. Last but not least, we starting to apply the NPK GREEN 15:15:15 on our bed. The content of the NPK green is nitrogen, phosphorus and kalium. The function of this fertilizer is to helping plant to growth leaves ,helping to produce healthy flower, buds, root and, fruits. We are using about 3 pinch and we mix it with water to make it as a solution and we pour it on our planting bed.   FPA100 LOG BOOK WEEKS 12(HARVESTING and SELLING) This week, we have harvested crops that have ripened and can be sold such as long beans and water spinach. From last week's marketing results, we have gathered some customers to buy . We harvest using scissors for long beans and mini tools for water spinach.                                                   After harvesting, We have taken the harvested plants up to Agrotech to wash them. After that we pack the long beans and water spinach according to the poster and the customer's order.   After finish packling, We have sent the order that was made online. challenges: separate overripe and bad long beans. costing: plastic bags-rm5.00 binding rubber-rm2.50 REFLECTION: we can sell properly and learn to harvest plants.
